The Unfair Demand of Renunciation

Why do we expect sādhus, munis, sādhvis, nuns, priests (like fathers and bishops) to give up marriage and the natural joy of sex, which is a gift from nature? Isn’t it selfish of society to respect them only when they give up such basic human happiness?

In other words, why do we value spiritual people only if they renounce a normal married life and their natural desires? It seems unfair that a person must give up personal joy just to gain respect from the community.

Blah Blah...

For people like me, partying can be celebrating Hinđū festivals like a true secular being! Let us do only those things that give us true happiness and real freedom.

Some librus have copied content from our web pages to *#$%pedia without giving any credit. I am somewhat of an atheist (son of an Ār'ya Samājī) who sympathizes with Hinduism, which is often targeted by Jihād and missionary efforts. I don’t visit temples or even Ārya Samāj Mandir/s for prayers or religious rituals.

I visit old temples to admire their architecture and feel a sense of history. Giving small donations to temples and other religious places helps maintain them, but giving large amounts feels like trying to bribe gods. Instead, it's better to support those being targeted by Jihādis and missionaries.
