Do you know that Mohanđās Gānđhī supported the Ḳhilāfaŧ (Caliphate) movement?

In order to get the respect and appreciation of Muslims, M.Gānđhī used to preach non-violence to every other community. He wanted to become an icon of non-violence, and in that pursuit he surrendered to the most violent ideology and hardcore Islāmists! He did that and everything else to become a leader. He wasn't what he posed as. Find about controversies surrounding him yourself.

Gānđhī and Neh(a)ru supported the Ḳhilāfaŧ Movement. The movement was more about Islām than about India. Their support also emboldened hard-core Islamists in South Asia and ignored the concerns of people from other communities. This later led to the religious persecution of non-Muslims in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Gānđhī chose Neh(a)ru as the first PM of India against the wishes of other leaders of India. They both were not simple persons and they liked each other. Out of the 15 regional committees who voted between Nehru and Vallabh-bhāi Patel for the PM post, 12 voted in favour of Vallabh-bhāi, while the remaining three didn’t select anyone. Why were most of the committees against Nehru? Nehru's family went on to become the most powerful family in India. So sad.
